Like many businesses, we’re always pleased to contribute to our local community in whatever way we can. Although we’re now recognised as one of Ireland’s leading suppliers of roll out lawns and related products, we’ll always be a family company at heart.
Growing up in a supportive rural community, my brothers and I were always aware of the importance of reaching out to offer support to others, and there’s no doubt that our community was a big factor in the Summerhill Lawns success story. So when the chance comes to give something back, it’s natural that we’d want to be doing that.
Our involvement in last month’s Trim St Patrick’s Day parade was a good example of this, with our families all joining in the fun and working hard to create what was a fabulous, and as it turned out, winning float. (Check out the video below!)
Some companies have huge PR budgets to get themselves noticed, but I think getting involved in an event like this gives businesses the chance to be seen in the best of all lights. That’s not really the main motivation for us, but it is certainly a benefit.
If you’re in Trim anytime in the next few months you’ll possibly see our colourful wildflower turf on some of the town’s verges and open spaces. This is a new product that we’re in the process of developing and we’re really pleased to be able to contribute to the work of Trim Town Council and its involvement in the national Tidy Towns competition.
We’ll be telling you more about our wildflower turf in our next updates here. In the meantime, I hope you’re enjoying the spring weather and getting out into your garden again. You can watch the video of our fabulous St Patrick’s Day float here.
